Nathan Major is a writer and critic currently residing in Hull, UK. He has been reviewing films since June of 2017 and has self-published three books of his writings (with a fourth on the way). He has been heard talking about his reviews on BBC Radio Humberside. He stepped away from writing for the site in 2021, due to health reasons, although he remains the editor, and plans to occasionally write in the future.

Away from film criticism, Nathan enjoys performing in musical theatre, having performed in several professional theatres around his local area. He also enjoys writing fiction (his creative works can be found at nathankmajor.wordpress.com) and is currently working on his first novel.

He has graduated with Honours from the University of Hull with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Film Studies.

Ian Judson MA started writing for Major Film Review in July 2021, following Nathan’s decision to step back from film reviewing. A long-time supporter and collaborator of the website’s work, he kindly offered to take over as the site’s main critic to ensure its future. He has previously critiqued television drama and film on his own websites.

Away from film criticism, Ian is a playwright and journalist, with his productions around the life and times of Great War hero Jack Harrison VC being performed on various stages around the East Yorkshire area. He is very active in campaigning for wider recognition for Jack in Hull, raising funds for a statue in his memory through various charitable means. His next production, Hide and Seek, premieres later this year and will focus on the life of another unsung war hero, Sister Agnes Walsh (also known as Sister Clare) a nun who helped hide a Jewish family during the Second World War.

He is a Master of Arts, after achieving an MA in English/Creative Writing from the University of Hull.
